How frequently we hear of earthquakes and tornadoes, of destruction by fire and flood, with great loss of life and property! Apparently these calamities are capricious outbreaks of disorganized, unregulated forces of nature, wholly beyond the control of man, but in them all God’s purpose may be read. They are among the agencies by which He seeks to arouse men and women to a sense of their danger.
On March 15, 2025, the Weather Channel stated that towering flames and hurricane force winds fueled more than 130 wildfires across Oklahoma that affected 44 counties. The large wildfires destroyed homes that forced entire towns to be evacuated.
Last Day Events, p. 24
The tempest is coming and we must get ready for its fury by having repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord will arise to shake terribly the earth. We shall see troubles on all sides. Thousands of ships will be hurled into the depths of the sea. Navies will go down, and human lives will be sacrificed by millions. Fires will break out unexpectedly and no human effort will be able to quench them. The palaces of earth will be swept away in the fury of the flames. Disasters by rail will become more and more frequent. Confusion, collision, and death without a moment’s warning will occur on the great lines of travel. The end is near, probation is closing. Oh, let us seek God while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near!

In the King James Version of the Bible, 2 Peter 3:7, it states, “But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.”

These wonderful manifestations will be more and more frequent and terrible just before the second coming of Christ and the end of the world, as signs of its speedy destruction.
The depths of the earth are the Lord’s arsenal, whence were drawn weapons to be employed in the destruction of the old world. Waters gushing from the earth united with the waters from heaven to accomplish the work of desolation. Since the Flood, fire as well as water has been God’s agent to destroy very wicked cities. These judgments are sent that those who lightly regard God’s law and trample upon His authority may be led to tremble before His power and to confess His just sovereignty. As men have beheld burning mountains pouring forth fire and flames and torrents of melted ore, drying up rivers, overwhelming populous cities, and everywhere spreading ruin and desolation, the stoutest heart has been filled with terror and infidels and blasphemers have been constrained to acknowledge the infinite power of God.

In the King James Version of the Bible, Revelation 16:9, it states, “And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.” This verse describes the intense heat from the sun after the fourth angel pours his bowl on it, giving the sun the power to scorch people with fire. The people are burned and blistered, and they curse God’s name but refuse to repent and glorify him.
The heat wave in the eastern U.S. in June 2024 was also a surprise, with scientists saying that the severity and duration were not “just summer.” Other heat waves in 2024 included a deadly wave in West Africa that reached 119 degrees Fahrenheit and killed at least 100 people, and large heat waves in Antarctica. Scientists say that these events would not have been possible without climate change.

“Men of science think that with their enlarged conceptions they can comprehend the wisdom of God, that which he has done or can do. The idea largely prevails that he is bounded and restricted by his own laws. Men either deny and ignore his existence, or think to explain everything, even the operations of his Spirit upon the human heart, by natural laws; and they no longer reverence his name or fear his power. While they think they are gaining everything, they are chasing bubbles, and losing precious opportunities to become acquainted with God. They do not believe in the supernatural, not realizing that the Author of nature’s laws can work above those laws. They deny the claims of God, and neglect the interests of their own souls; but his existence, his character, his laws, are facts that the reasoning of men of the highest attainments cannot overthrow.”
2023 – Earthquake in Morocco

After decades, a deadly earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 struck the country of Morocco. It was reported that possibly more than 2,000 people died. Many were injured as buildings and city walls collapsed. As a result many have lost their homes, families, and possessions.
2020 – Year of Seeing Clearly
“As Jesus continues to observe the earth, He says that each day there will be visible signs of God releasing just a small part of His wrath. Each day an example of an act of God in some form of natural destruction will occur, whether earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, tornadoes, hail, high winds, fire, freezing temperatures, extreme heat, flooding, or drought….“I ask each not to become discouraged. All these things need to happen. This is only the beginning. Continue to watch. Before all are signs of signs. The focus needs to be placed on things not of this world, because it is only a temporary home for My people.”
